A-TTEN-TION

I have found myself quite busy these days, so I am just now getting around to posting some pictures from Halloween.

Again this year, there was a time organized in our complex for the kids to go out Trick-or-Treating. Despite the rain, about 100-150 kids hit the streets to get some candy. Our complex has become quite the hot spot for Trick-or-Treating since it is one of the few safe places for the kids to walk around on the streets and go door to door without having to worry too much about getting run over by a car or motorcycle AND there were a lot of houses participating in passing out candy. Anyways...

First I will introduce the cast of characters:

Luke, the Polisi

Yes, I spelled it right, polisi. Not police. Here in Jakarta they call their police officiers, polisi (pronounced policey). I remember when I first heard someone call them that. It almost sounded like they were making fun of the guy. Hey Policey! It just sounded wrong. But that is really the name and to be taken seriously.

Jack, JayJay The Jet Plane

We borrowed this costume from our neighbors. This airplane character comes from a children's video series. We have yet to watch one of the movies but I thought the costume was cute no the less. Jack, however, was not too keen on keeping the costume on and mainly just wore it to pose for pictures.

Alex, the Pirate

Yes, a repeat from last year. Took him to the costume shop and he could find nothing else he wanted to be except the pirate he already had a costume for. Saves money, right?

Isaac, the Spiderman

Isaac, like Alex, just wanted to wear his costume from last year. Although this year he would dawn the mask and gloves happily, which he pretty much refused to do last year. I don't have any pictures of Isaac by himself. Just this group shot. The boys in the picture you don't know are the kids' friends Alan, the other Spiderman, and Travis, Barney. They came over to trick-or-treat with us.
