France - Part 1

Here are the pictures that we took while in France (minus our Disney pictures). I will forward the Disney pictures in the next post. I didn't write a whole lot with the pictures captions, so read below before you look at the pictures to get an idea of what you might see:

- Provins: Our first day in France was spent at this medieval town which was been named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2001. It is located on the ancient lands of the Earls of Champagne and still mostly surrounded by a fortified wall which was constructed in the 13th century. The town's architecture bears witness to its medieval history which stretched from the 11th-13th century. And there are several shows put on here to give you a glimpse into what life might have been like during medieval times. While we were there, we toured the Tithe Barn and Caesar's Tower and watched 2 shows, The Eagles of the Ramparts and The Legend of the Knights.

- Paris: Our second day in France was spent touring the sights of Paris. We started the day at the Eiffel Tower then headed for a boat cruise on the Seine River. The boat cruise took us past many of the famous sights in Paris and was a great way to see lots without having to do a lot of walking. After the boat tour, we went to the Arc de Triomphe to finish the day. Later in the week, Justin and I went back into to Paris while Debbie stayed with the boys at Disneyland. This is when we toured the Louvre and ate at a typical French sidewalk creperie.

-SeaLife: Toward the end of the week, we took a break from Disneyland and went to a nearby mall for lunch and a visit to the SeaLife Aquarium. It was a small aquarium but the boys seemed to enjoy playing pirates and looking for the clues (questions) to find the treasure (a chocolate "gold" coin)at the end of the tour.
